Our Story
L.G. Scott Landscaping and Tree Service is a family owned business with four generations of experience in the green industry.
During the Great Depression the great-grandfather of the owners, Ernest Scott, served with the Civilian Conservation Corps and worked on numerous projects around the Northeastern United States. His son, Larkin G. Scott, enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating high school and served honorably in both WWII and the Korean War. After his time in the military, he started a landscaping and tree service in Philadelphia, PA, which he ran until his retirement.

His son, Larkin G. Scott II, father of the owners, grew up helping his father with his business and learning all aspects of the landscaping industry. After high school, he also served in the US Navy for several years and used the GI Bill to earn his B.S. in Horticulture from Delaware Valley College. After college, Larkin worked in the northeast for a large landscaping firm and learned even more about the landscape industry. Having lived in Virginia while in the Navy, he decided to move his family to Virginia, where he had the opportunity to manage a feed and garden supply store. After years away from the landscape service industry, Larkin decided it was time to start his own company and L.G. Scott Landscaping and Tree Service was born. In 2008 he sold the business to his two eldest sons Larkin G. Scott III and Luke G. Scott.
